MarketPost

MarketPost™ is our sophisticated address cleansing service.

Australia Post has a category of bulk mail that uses barcodes to identify addresses. Clients who adopt this new technology can take advantage of better prices for pre-sorted barcoded mail. In order to barcode mail, clients will need to utilise address matching software to compare their address data against Australia Post’s Postal Address File (PAF). The PAF contains a randomly generated, unique 8 digit number that is associated with each address – this number is called the Delivery Point Identifier (DPID).

A key component of Australia Post’s new initiative is the Address Matching Approval System (AMAS). AMAS is the quality certification program designed to ensure that third party software allocates the correct DPID. Marketsoft has licensed an AMAS approved DPID engine specifically for this purpose.

Marketsoft has a long-standing commitment to provide quality name and address enhancement services. Generally this has led us to develop our own in-house software. In this case it made more sense to acquire the PAF engine from the open market. However, as a specialist in address scrubbing and matching, Marketsoft has the expertise to properly prepare data for DPID allocation. Through the use of our existing MarketPost™ and MarketParse systems we can clean and pre-parse data before passing it to the PAF engine, and in this way maximise DPID allocation rates.

On its own DPID is a simple process offered by many organisations. But use it in conjunction with Marketsoft’s cleansing tools and you’ll see a better DPID rate and therefore lower mailing costs.
